For correct answers, applicants are given one mark
For the incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted
The score is calculated based on the number of correct answers after decreasing the penalty for the wrong answer
Normalisation of Marks
Applicants for different platforms will be shortlisted based on the normalised marks obtained by them in CBT. The normalisation process is followed since the CBT is conducted in various sessions. The normalisation is done for first stage CBT, second stage CBT and CBAT. This process is done to adjust the difficulty level of question papers across different sessions. Recently, RRBs had revised the normalisation process. The marks obtained in the exam will be calculated based on an average score of the top one percent of the candidates regarding all shifts. The marks will be divided up to five decimal places.
